McGehee, to Elizabeth Spann, Hamburg, S.C., re Spann's possible relocation to Florida; manuscripts, 4 May 1841-6 July 1841 and 1841, re Elizabeth Spann's effort to acquire a patent for Dr. James Spann's "Ague and Cholera Pills." James Henry Hammond (1807-1864) was a lawyer and planter, and an early advocate of nullification and secession.
