This volume contains "a list of the citizens of Boulder who are liable to a poll tax for the year ending April 30th A.D. 1887 unless exempted by the statutes of the State of Colorado or by the Ordinances of the City of Boulder." (p. 3) Columns show whether the tax was paid or the person was exempt or left town, and indicate the street, amount, and in some cases personal information (e.g. age, or disability) about the citizen. A note by the city clerk on page 24 certifies "that the foregoing list of person[s] subject to poll tax in the City of Boulder was adopted by a vote of the City Council, at a regular meeting held on the 3rd day of May A.D. 1886." Pages 25-26 contain a list of members of Company H; page 27 has a list of members of Macky Hose Company. Pages 31-103 are blank; pages 104-112 contain records of labor and expenses by citizens.
