This envelope contains portraits of Frederick Lincoln Chase, and group photographs with friends banqueting, bicycling, duck hunting, and picnicing on Flagstaff Mountain, possibly on the 4th of July, as the people appear to be holding fireworks. Also photos with his dog, "Hob".

George F. Chase arrived in Boulder, Colorado, in July 1859. He was one of the first settlers of the town. He and his wife Augusta had five children; only their son Frederick survived them.
