Winter hikers. [ca. 1938]

This folder contains 5 photographs of Rocky Mountain winter scenes, probably in the late 1930s. Print #32 is of a man on foot in a clearing on the Jenny Creek trail through a spruce forest south of Lake Eldora, Colo. Print #33 is another winter view of Jasper Lake basin (cf. print #29). The snow-covered mountainsides are quite barren of trees; the jagged rock mass called Devil's Thumb juts into the sky on the divide above Jasper Lake. Print #34 is a partial view of the old Highland Mary Tunnel cabin near the stream channel 5 miles west of Eldora; a man on snowshoes stands at a corner of the log cabin. Print # 35 is a back view of a man snowshoeing down a snow-covered roadway; the snowy skyline ridge in the background is on Arapaho Peak. Print #36 shows two hikers with their snowshoes, standing in front of the deserted A.C. Adair cabin, 7 miles northwest of Eldora on the north fork of Middle Boulder Creek.
