E. Power Biggs was born in Essex, England, on March 29, 1906. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London. He began to concertize in the United States in 1930, and by 1937 had become an American citizen. By 1960, he was a well-known recitalist, broadcaster, and recording artist with Columbia Studios.
