This collection contains publications (books and journal articles) written by Jim Bishop, correspondence, memos, notes, typescripts, manuscripts, carbon copies, photocopies, publishers proofs (master, author's reader's, page, and galley, plate, printer's), proofreading notes, newspaper clippings, photographs, bulletins. Bishop wrote about the lives and assassinations of President Abraham Lincoln, President John F. Kennedy, and Martin Luther King, Jr. He also wrote about the last years of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. He wrote "The Mark Hellinger Story," "The Trial of Judge Peel," "The Day Christ was Born." "The Day Christ Died," "Go with God," "A Bishop's Confession, "The Birth of the United States," "The Day the World Stood Still."

Jim Bishop began his career in 1929 as a Ne York News copy boy. He became an author and journalist. His most significant publications were written while he worked as a columnist with the King Features Syndicate. He received an honorary degree from St. Bonaventure University in 1958.
