Series I contains biographical and genealogical information primarily about women who settled in Pembina County prior to 1890. However, this series also includes histories on pioneer men, religious figures and doctors. Personal histories filed under the appropriate community are arranged alphabetically by married name. The bulk dates for this series are 1880-1920. Series II covers a broad range of topics, including schools, church and business development, club organization, and history of early settlements. This series is arranged alphabetically by township and includes information from 1860-1920. Series III includes the development of the Pembina County Pioneer Daughters Organization. Included are meeting books and reports, a project file, and newspaper clippings of notable events and members dating from 1940- 1975. An index, which is filed with this inventory, provides researchers greater detail of the various documents within this collection. For example, the index contains alphabetical lists of pioneers and doctors documented in Series I. The index provides an itemization of community, church, and school histories contained in Series II. Finally, the index supplies detailed information on Pembina County Pioneer Daughters records included in Series III
