Atlantic City Free Public Library Collection of Atlantic City Photographs : 2007 Aerial Photographs.

This collection is a sub-series of Collection H009, Atlantic City Free Public Library Collection of Atlantic City Photographs. The 161 individual digital images in this collection were captured on October 15, 2007 using a Canon EOS-5D camera. The images represent all areas of Atlantic City. Images were taken primarily from the water - the Bay, Inlet, or the Atlantic Ocean), but all neighborhoods of the City are visible. Each image was transmitted to the Atlantic City Free Public Library as a TIF format and as a JPG file format in 4 compression levels (33%, 50%, 75%, and 100%). Digital files were delivered to ACFPL on five DVD-R discs. TIF and JPG (100%) files were transferred to a server for digital preservation. Digital files and prints were numbered according the digital file name assigned by the camera. Photograph descriptions were assigned by the archivist based on geological and man made landmarks visible in each image.

The Atlantic City Free Public Library (ACFPL) conducted oral history interviews in 1978, at the advent of casino gambling in Atlantic City. The interviews were conducted with grant funding from the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act (CETA), a program of the United States Department of Labor.
