Born in Waverly, Iowa. Artist and professor. Blanche Marie Gallagher, BVM was born Patricia Mary Jane Gallagher, in Waverly, Iowa, to Blanche (Jacobson) and J.J. Gallagher. She entered the order of the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (BVM). Sr. Blanche Marie earned a B.A. from Mundelein College and an M.F.A from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. She also studied at the University of Colorado, the State University of Iowa, and the Giorgio Cini Foundation, in Ven...
