Albert Carlos Bates papers, 1816-1954.

Papers of Albert Carlos Bates, a native of East Granby, Connecticut. Bates was librarian of the Connecticut Historical Society for 47 years. He was considered an authority on the history of the State of Connecticut. Bates was sought out for his knowledge of coins, relics, and objects of antiquity. The collection contains correspondence and family papers, as well as many prepared addresses.
