This collections consists of extracts from Franklin's journals on his trip westward from the Mackenzie River from June to September in 1826 on his expedition to chart the Arctic coastline. On a second expedition in 1845, Franklin and his crew perished. Subsequent search parties filled in the gaps on the Arctic charts in their efforts to locate the lost expedition.
