Describing her homesickness in Belgium: "I have nobody to speak to--for I count the Belgians as nothing"; giving her opinion on Mary Taylor's decision to teach boys; noting that Henry Nussey would not last as a missionary; complaining of long afternoons spent alone while Madame Heger "never comes near" her; hinting that she may know why Madame Heger ignores her.
