This collection consists of materials of the Michigan Museum Association and is arranged in five series. The first series, current committee files (1973-81), contains correspondence, memos, and reports involving the financing activities of the Association. The second series, current office files (1978-82), contains Board of Director's minutes discussing the plans and activities of the Association and also contains bylaws, projected budgets and expenses for future years. The third series, Mike Smith's files (1975-81), includes papers kept by Mike Smith, director of the Michigan Historical Museum, who served on the Board of Directors. Includes budget summaries, museum surveys, correspondence, and rough draft speeches of Smith. The fourth series, executive office files (1979-81), contains materials relating to the office of the executive director. The fifth series, manuals (1980-82), contains guidelines, written rules, and regulations concerning the Association's operations.
