James Tissot letters to the Marquis de Miramon, 1866.

Two letters by James Jacques Joseph Tissot to the Marquis de Miramon (René de Cassagnes de Beaufort de Miramon) regarding Tissot's portrait of the Marquise de Miramon (née Therèsè Feuillant.) In an undated one-page note Tissot expresses his desire to begin work on the portrait as soon as possible at the Miramon home. In a three-page letter dated 27 August 1866, Tissot requests that the portrait be lent for display at the Exposition Universelle starting in October (Exposition universelle de 1867 à Paris).
