Sea Tails kite and ephemera, 1980-1983.

The collection consists of a kite and two invitations relating to Molly Davies' 1983 video Sea Tails. The underwater kite was fabricated by Jacqueline Monnier in 1980 of stenciled spunbound polyester, and is one of several that appear in the video; the artist refers to it as a "kite tail." The kite bears the inscription: "Sea tail study; 1980 Jackie Matisse." Monnier personalized the printed invitations for the video's 1983 premiere by covering them with clear plastic wrap stenciled with acrylic-type paint.
