Crime and criminals graphics collection, 1836-1984.

This portion of the collection contains 16 FBI wanted posters for revolutionaries, bombers, and anti-war activists, most notably Joanne Chesimard [Assata Shakur], Patricia Hearst, Emily Harris, Roberta Brent Smith, and Patricia Elizabeth Swinton, 1969-1984; posters for one missing and two murdered women in Philadelphia, 1972-1973; four sketches of women robbers in Philadelphia, 1972; and five articles about the Weathermen and flyers about Joanne Chesimard's trial, 1977-1981. Also, 26 articles and illustrations, arranged alphabetically, about female criminals, including Angela Davis and Fredericka Mandelbaum, and a police authorization for Frau von Lornau to go from Breslau to Berlin, October 15, 1848; four images of female relatives of criminals and victims, 1836-1886; four women in law enforcement, 1884-1938; and sixteen illustrations of women as criminals (prostitutes, felons), 1870-1939.
