This collection consists of legislative subject files (1960-1982) and primarily documents Rep. Anderson's career as a state representative, but also includes materials on his work with national environmental and natural resource conservation groups. Included are correspondence and background informational materials on various issues, including abortion, the bottle bill, daylight savings, endangered species, energy shortages, equal rights amendment, gun control, hazardous waste, P.B.B., sex education, solar energy, and workman's compensation. The collection is arranged alphabetically.

H.B. 3055 was Michigan's Environmental Protection Act, that was drafted in 1969 by Joseph L. Sax and signed into law on July 27, 1970. Anderson agreed to introduce the bill into the Michigan House in Apr. 1969, and to oversee the campaign for its passage. This bill, the first of its kind in the nation, generated wide public interest and served as a model for the Hart-McGovern Environmental Protection Bill.
