This collection consists of materials accumulated by the Mackinac Island State Park Commission covering the years 1824-1905. Includes an account of New York and the eastern area, by Rev. Fr. D.J. Piret (May 5, 1846); a notebook "D.H. Kelton, Mackinac, Mich.", listing names and addresses, etc. of the military service records of the Kelton family (n.d.) with photos of Maj. Dwight H. Kelton; the Sunday School minute book (publisher, American Sunday School Union, 1824), includes a report of Sunday school, dated June 19, 1825-Jan. 1, 1826; letter from O. Bugbee to Benjamin Follett, Esq. of Ypsilanti, Mich., from Detroit, Feb. 1851, relating to purchase of lumber, with two stampless covers addressed to Abraham Wendell, (1829, 1833); letters and note from Thomas Marshall to his parents (1861-1864); social invitation and calling cards of Charles A. and Rosa Truscott Disbrow Webb, Fort Mackinac, Mich. (1878); a letter from C.R. Miller to E.E. Kane, Dec. 5, 1905, Adrian, Mich., and portion of flyer advertising the auction of Mission House property, 1904-1905; copy of Joseph Valliancourt's land patent on Michilimackinac Island (1891); certificate of land selected for the Ottawa and Chippawa Indians, approved June 7, 1871; deeds to land (1844); a scrapbook of clippings (ca. 1880-1890); and issues of newspapers.
