This collection consists of various materials relating to DeWitt Kenyon and Charles Slayton. The collection includes a donor letter with biographical data on Kenyon; the June 12, 1857 issue of Le theano della Leonia (a ladies' magazine); a furlough dated Sept. 18, 1862; Slayton's enlistment certification (Sept. 20, 1862); Slayton's discharge papers (dated June 24, 1865); pensions awarded to Slayton (Sept. 7, 1872) and Kenyon (Dec. 7, 1891); additional pension papers of Kenyon (1892-1904); a letter from the Quartermaster General relating to organization of the State Military Museum; a notice of a book sent, "Michigan in the war"; an 1887 issue of the North American souvenir; and a Oct. 21, 1880 issue of The Plainwell independent.
