Letters, 1961-1967.

Consists of letters to and from Hunter Southworth Kimbrough, concerning his relationship with his brother-in-law, Upton Sinclair. Kimbrough enjoyed a long personal relationship with Sinclair. The items in this collection chronicle the final years of that relationship, especially the misunderstandings between Kimbrough and Sinclair in regard to certain financial matters.

Upton Sinclair was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1878. Sinclair was an American author, novelist, journalist, and political activist who wrote many books in several genres. He is most well-known for his exposé, The Jungle regarding conditions in Chicago's meat packing plants, which influenced the passage of the Meat Inspection Act and the Pure Food and Drug Act in 1906.
