This collection consists of various papers of Joel Sharkey. The collection includes correspondence, articles, news releases, reports, speeches, analyses, position papers, and campaign literature collected or generated by the Senate Democratic Office. While some of the material was created by Sharkey in his professional capacity, most of it was assembled by him for reference purposes. The files offer a glimpse of how the Democratic Party organized itself, dealt with issues, and served its members in the upper chamber.
