George Sand letters and papers, ca. 1845.

Sand's manuscript on Hamlet is an example of the Romantics' great interest in and admiration for Shakespeare. In her letter to chère amie, Sand mentions forwarding a letter to Monsieur Robinet and recommends that if her correspondent is interested in staying in Paris she might consider a certain Mrs. Martiani. In a letter to cher ami, probably her publisher, Sand notes that the proofs of her manuscript were terrible and asks that Noël Parfait correct them with great care.
