George Griffin Photograph Collection, 1885-1985 (bulk 1920-1955).

This is Dean of Students George Griffin's accumulated collection of photos relating to virtually all aspects of Georgia Tech and its history, including its students, faculty and administrators, alumni, sports, and physical surroundings. There are 646 photos of which 82 are oversized and 62 that are regarded as "missing". The missing ones are presumed to be in existence but are not accounted for in the inventory that was devised when the collection was originally processed.

George Clayton Griffin (1896-1990) entered the Georgia School of Technology in 1914 as a member of the Sub-Freshman (Subapprentice) Class. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War I and received the B.S. in Civil Engineering in 1922. For the next seven years he taught and coached at Georgia State College for Men in Tifton, GA and the McCallie School in Chattanooga, TN.
