Letters, 1969-1970.

Consists primarily of letters from Raymond Carver, 1938-1988, and artist Robert McChesney to editor and small press publisher George Hitchcock, b. 1914, concerning Hitchcock's publication of Carver's volume of poems, first titled Drinking while driving, but published as Winter insomnia (Santa Cruz, Ca. : Kayak Books, 1970). McChesney did the prints that appear in the volume. Also present is the typescript of Drinking while driving marked for the printer, but without the title change indicated, or McChesney's prints.
