The material in the collection includes business cards from 1876-1892; cartoons and illustrations from 1885-1886; Civil War news reports from 1861; forestry news clippings from 1899-1901; Grand Army of the Republic news clippings from 1888-1894; news clippings covering many topics from 1849-1907; opera house playbills from 1888-1897; party candidate lists from ca. 1862-1872; political cartoons from 1895-1896; political news clippings from 1874-1894; and Spanish-American war clippings from 1898 and 1901-1902.
