The Kent State University Press was founded in 1965. The first director was C. Howard Allen who came to Kent State after serving as editor and director of the Western Reserve University Press from 1946 to 1958. Paul Rohmann served as the second director of the Press, after having been the director of the Antioch Press for 12 years until it folded due to financial difficulities. The Kent State University Press contined to print and distribute the active back list of books from the Antioch Press. ...
