School of Mines athletic team [picture]. [between 1894 and 1897]

Twenty three men, members of a School of Mines athletic team pose in their uniforms. Two men wear dark t-shirts with a light "M" on the front center, two wear black pullovers, and three others wear shirts, jackets, and caps. Most wear long-sleeved pullovers with dark and light horizontal stripes. One man holds a ball with "'97" printed on it. The uniform includes padded knickers and a protective cover for the lower leg. A black man, in jacket and cap, is at the back of the group. A dog, wearing what appears to be team colors as a kerchief, poses with the team. George Duvall is believed to be among the students.
