1919-1938

Photographs of mostly buildings; many designed by Rockfellow. The buildings designed by her include the El Conquistador Hotel, private residences in Tucson, Safford School, Tucson Indian Training School, La Fonda Hotel, and the YWCA. Included is a photograph of the groundbreaking ceremony for the YWCA building, 1930. Other images in Tucson include views of Tucson Mountain Park, views of Tucson from the Congress Hotel, 1929, Hotel Arizona, Lee Tan Co. Grocers and other businesses on S. Meyer, and photographs of the Fort Lowell ruins, 1921. There are photographs of Patagonia including school children, burros, and the Commercial Hotel, and of Nogales, including the railroad depot and the Hotel Lujan. Photographs on a 1925 trip to the Papago Indian Reservation depict the Indian school and hospital at Sells, a church in Little Tucson, a church at Cowlie, an arrasta, and Father Fredericks and St. Catherine's Church at Topawa.

First woman architect to practice in Arizona; Rockfellow moved to Tucson in 1915 and joined the architecture firm of Henry O. Jaastad until her retirement in 1936. She designed Tucson buildings such as the El Conquistador Hotel, the YWCA, Safford School, and other buildings, homes and churches throughout Arizona. She was the sister of John A. Rockfellow. Founded in 1888 by the Women's Board of Home Mission of the Presbyterian Church, their chief purpose was to teach Pima and Tohono O'odham children English and Christianity. Enrollment of children was assisted by the work of Rev. Charles H. Cook, minister and teacher at Sacaton, Ariz. By 1950 enrollment was diminishing and the school was closed in 1960.
