Congressional committee records, correspondence, speeches, campaign financial and administrative records, voter surveys, photographs, audio tapes, and videocassettes of J. Alex McMillan. Records document his work on House committees, including Small Business; Banking, Finance and Urban Affairs; Joint Economic; Energy and Commerce; and Budget. Also included are records relating to his service on the Leadership for Health Care Reform Task Force and President's Commission for Entitlement Reform, and his work as a delegate to the North Atlantic Assembly (NATO) and as vice chair of the Economic Committee and Sub-Committee on East-West Economic Cooperation. J. Alex McMillan III was born in Charlotte, N.C. and attended a private boarding school in Virginia. He later went to college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Virginia.
