This collection contains the papers of the Elliott family, pioneers of Delta County, Michigan. The 800 acre Elliott farm, the largest in the county, was used in both lumbering and agricultural pursuits. While the bulk of this collection contains the personal correspondence of the family, business records and correspondence are also included. In addition, this collections contains the papers of Thomas and Mary Anne Kynaston, neighbors of the Elliotts. The Kynaston papers begin with a poem (author and date unknown), written in long hand and bearing Mrs. Kynaston's maiden name, and end with her death. The photographs have been transferred to the photograph collection of Michigan History Division Archives.
