W.L. Terry was born on 27 Sept. 1850 near Wadesboro, N.C. He graduated from Trinity College in North Carolina in 1872 and was admitted to the bar in Little Rock in 1873. From 1875 to 1885, he was city attorney. In 1879, he also served as state senator and senator pro tempore. He was elected to Congress in 1901 and retired in 1909. In 1875 he married Mollie C. Dixon. She died in 1895. In 1899 he married Florence Forshe. Children by his first wife were W.L., Jr., David D., and Frank A...
