Fithian family collection, 1817-1929.

This collection consists of items associated with the Fithian family of Kentucky and Ohio. The items, dated 1817-1929, include a history of the Sinnickson family by Robert G. Johnson; two pages of obituaries for Mrs. Sarah D. Fithian, Dr. Joel Fithian, and Dr. Enoch Fithian; a Faries-Fithian wedding notice; three wills for Elizabeth Sinnickson of Philadelphia, Andrew Sinnickson of Salem, New Jersey, and Elizabeth Norris of Philadelphia; an article about Dr. Enoch Fithian in celebration of his 100th birthday entitled "The Fithian Centennial" extracted from "Bridgeton Pioneer;" and four Civil War-era letters to Emma Fithian of North Middletown, Kentucky, from Fannie in Oxford, Ohio, and J.K. Hearne in Cincinnati. These letters discuss the war in Kentucky and mention the situation if Emma's husband, Joseph Fithian, who was a Union Army doctor taken prisoner of war. Other materials donated and possibly transferred to the photoarchives and the museum are the following: a miniature on ivory of Frank Fithian, born in Clark County, Ky., ca. 1860; a photograph of Macey White Fithian and Aunt Mabel Russell Frank; photograph of Georgia Fithian Webb (wife of Charles D. Webb) born Sept. 18, 1863 and died June 5, 1922; photograph of Macey White Fithian, daughter of George White and wife of Dr. Frank Fithian; photographs (or portraits) of George White Fithian, George G. Fithian, Josephine Fithian, Emely Fithian, and Macey White Fithian.
