This includes drafts of works such as "Honest Accounts of a Memorable Life," The Promise of Rest, " and "A Whole New Life"; drafts of works by others; financial records; works inscribed to Price; story proofs; a copy of his Founders' Day speech, 1993; printouts of both incoming and outgoing e-mail; diskettes of e-mail and writings; other correspondence including items regarding the work, Short Stories (1993), outgoing mail, and letters and cards from students, writers, readers of his work, friends, and others; serials and other printed materials, much by or about Price; clippings; volumes including copies of books by friends or former students; manuscript notes; miscellaneous; some photographs; and a videotape of Price's reading of ghost stories in 1996 at Lilly Library, Duke University.

By Source, Fair use, Link Reynolds Price was born Edward Reynolds Price, in Macon, North Carolina, on 1 February 1933. He earned his B.A. degree from Duke University (1955) while on a full scholarship. After graduating, Price won a Rhodes scholarship, which allowed him to attend Merton College, Oxford. In 1958, Price received his Bachelor of letters from Merton College. His thesis focused on the English poet John Milton. Upon his return from Oxford, Price secured a position in the English d...
