George Allen West, Jr., (born 1915) graduated from Stetson University in 1936 and received a Doctor of Theology degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1942. After two brief pastorates in Kentucky, he began serving as Senior Pastor of Woodmont Baptist Church in Nashville, TN, in 1942.
