Valley National Bank drawings collection, 1927-1986.

The bulk of the collection consists of drawings of various Valley National Bank offices in Phoenix, Show Low, Tempe and Tucson. Most are blueprints, sketches on tracing paper and diazos. Some prominent architects included are Bennie M. Gonzales, H.H. Green and Frank Lloyd Wright. Also included are photographs and press releases for the geodesic dome in Tempe, the first geodesic building in Arizona.

Historical note: In 1922, two institutions were officially merged to become the Valley Bank and Trust Company of Phoenix and fourteen years later the name was again altered to Valley National Bank. With many bank failures in the early 1930s, Walter Bimson came to Arizona to become Vice-President of Valley Bank. Walter Bimson was president for 20 years and his brother Carl Bimson succeeded him.
