Collection (31370 items, dated 1931-1994 and n.d.) contains correspondence, writings, speeches, published materials, subject files, and clippings documenting the career and ideas of Lauchlin Bernard Currie. The bulk of the materials focus on Currie's analyis of macroeconomic policy during the New Deal, and growth, housing and export policies for developing countries especially Colombia. There is also material on China and Currie's mentor at Harvard, Allyn Young. Certain additional items relate to the investigation of Currie by the House Committee on Un-American Activities. Addition (01-164)(310 items, .2 linear feet, dated 1954, 1976-1982) contains copies of correspondence and writings by Currie, as well as transcripts and other documents related to the investigation of Currie by the House Un-American Activities Committee, photocopied from Currie's FBI file. Also, Currie's notes for a class at the National Planning Department in Bogota, 1976-1977, 1982. Addition (03-208)(125 items, .2 lin. ft.; dated 1992-1993) contains primarily correspondence between Currie and his biographer, Roger Sandilands, and related material about Currie's contributions to development economics. Includes comments on Currie's views and on the writings and positions of other economists.
