Jesse Stuart papers, 1941-1943.

This collection consists of a manuscript, clipping, booklet, and letters of Kentucky writer Jesse Stuart. The letters to Aquilla B. Hanson, dated from 1941-1943, discuss Stuart's autographing books for Hanson, projects he was working on, and his accident in Mexico. The undated manuscript is a typed and corrected copy of "Against the Sunset." The magazine clipping mentions Stuart as writer and farmer in Kentucky, and the booklet, with a note by Stuart scribbled on the cover, is about writer August Demleth.

Jesse Stuart was a famous Kentucky novelist, short-story writer, poet, and teacher. From the description of Broadside, ca. 1950. (Filson Historical Society, The).
