Basil Hall letter, St. Louis, Missouri, to My dear Sir, 1828 May 23.

In this letter, written during his travels in North America, 1827 and 1828, Hall complains that when he left Washington [31 January 1828] he gave three packages to Mr. Smith at the steamboat wharf to send to Messrs. Thomas Walker & Sons of New York but the packages have not yet arrived. He requests inquiries to be made and himself notified at Buffalo where he is headed. He also asks the price of a complete set of Niles' register.
