Collection consists of letters from Witherspoon to his cousin Ellen R. Tween in Camden, S.C. Biographical information related to the family is included with the collection. He writes from various points in S.C. and discusses camp life, food, concern over his brother James, apparently also a soldier. He also describes some of the blockading activities at Little River Camp.
