Milton papers, 1920-1962.

Diaries and manuscripts; ten diaries of Jeff Milton's daily records, 1920-1927, during his work as immigration inspector in southern Arizona. These diaries contain very brief entries of where he traveled and what his task was. There are also identification cards and appointment documents for Milton. Also present are writings by his wife, Mildred Milton, about her husband, and a manuscript by J. Evetts Haley entitled "Jeff Milton: a Good Man With a Gun". This manuscript appears to contain additional information which was not published in his book.
