John Mims Ware family papers, [ca. 1800-1916].

The collection consists of papers of John Mims Ware and the Ware family of Heard County, Georgia from ca. 1800-1916. The papers include scattered correspondence, clippings, deeds, estate papers, and speeches or writings of James Britton Ware pertaining to real estate transactions or activities in Georgia Senate. The bulk of the collection consists of account books (1867-1895) documenting the management of the family's plantation and tannery as well as an account book (1800-1801) of Henry Ware in Edgefield County (S.C.) and a cotton book (1835) of John M. Ware.
