The collection consists of a record book of funeral director, John Jones of Cartersville, (Bartow County, Ga.) from 1926-1933. The entries include name of the deceased; date and place of death; date, time, and place of funeral; clergyman; date and place of burial; age; race; occupation; birthplace; last residence; father's name and country of birth; mother's name; country of birth for the deceased; physician; cause of death; person ordering funeral; and relatives names. The entries may also include various funeral costs (embalming, musicians, vault charges, etc.), song titles, or pallbearers. Also contained in the volume are obituaries, casket sizes, list of county officials, hospitals, and transportation schedules.
