Summary: As of 1997 collection consists of research materials collected by Cline and typed manuscripts by Cline on various people and topics in New Mexico history (1878-1991). Includes letters, clippings, photographs, notes, and photocopies of historical documents. Much of the collection concerns outlaws in New Mexico and the Lincoln County War. Collection includes materials on many individuals, including Vicente Silva, Tom Pickett, Alexander McSween, Pat Garrett, Billy the Kid, William Brady, Kit Carson, Jose Chavez y Chavez, John Chisum, A.J. Fountain, Thomas "Black Jack" Ketchum, James J. Dolan, Lawrence Murphy, Oliver "Brushy Bill" Roberts, Dave Rudabaugh, Harvey Whitehill, and Hamilton McComas.
