Summary: As of 1997 collection consists of research materials collected by Cline and typed manuscripts by Cline on various people and topics in New Mexico history (1878-1991). Includes letters, clippings, photographs, notes, and photocopies of historical documents. Much of the collection concerns outlaws in New Mexico and the Lincoln County War. Collection includes materials on many individuals, including Vicente Silva, Tom Pickett, Alexander McSween, Pat Garrett, Billy the Kid, William Brady, Kit Carson, Jose Chavez y Chavez, John Chisum, A.J. Colonel Albert Jennings Fountain was born in Staten Island, New York in 1838. His early military career led him to various parts of the country, including -- perhaps most significantly, New Mexico.
