Confederate States of America prison (Madison, Ga.) records, 1862.

The collection consists of the records of the Confederate States of America prison at Madison, Georgia from April 24 - December 24, 1862. Includes a list of arrivals (April 24 - December 20), a list of departures (May 5 - December 24), and a list of deaths (May 8). Rosters give the prisoners' name, rank, and regiment (if any). Many of the prisoners held at Madison were unionists from East Tennessee. The collection also contains a roster titled "Bridge Burners and Engine Thieves" listing the men held at Madison for their involvement in the Chattanooga Railroad Expedition in 1862, including James J. Andrew, leader of the raiders.
