S.P.B.J.M.B. letter, 1863.

This collection consists of a two-page letter written by a man (possibly a Civil War soldier) near Dalton, Georgia to his wife, Jane, on December 15, 1863. The note mentions his health, family and friends, including Thomas Teagle and James Spence, instructions to his wife, the cost of meat and salt, and is signed S.P.B.J.M.B. This letter was written on the back of two strips of railroad tickets of East Tennessee and Georgia Railroad, nos. 217-228, March 31, 1863.
