United Negro College Fund division and department records, 1943-1983.

The collection consists of the records of the divisions and departments of the UNCF from 1943-1983. The Communications Dept. subseries (1944-1983) includes campaign brochures, serial publications, advertising council materials, news releases, and newspaper and magazine clippings relating to the public relations activities of the UNCF. The Controller subseries (1944-1981) documents the UNCF's fiscal activities. The Educational Services Dept. subseries (1949-1981) contains materials pertaining to non-fundraising programs. Records relating to the Fund-Raising Division (1944-1965) include materials documenting the National Campaign Director, the Greater New York Women's Division, and the first and second capital campaigns. The Research Dept. subseries (1949-1982) contains general files, publications and questionnaires containing information on the UNCF member institutions and higher education for African Americans.
