The collection consists of records of the Printing Specialties and Paper Products Union Local 527 (Atlanta, Ga.) of the International Printing Pressmen and Assistants' Union of North America from 1946-1972. Includes correspondence, minutes, financial records, contract negotiation files, contracts, constitutions, and other printed items. The bulk of the materials are the negotiation files which contain correspondence, National Labor Relations Board case documents, reports, and summaries of meetings between the union and management negotiation teams, pertaining mainly to Local 527's relations with the Mead Paper Company. The correspondence is primarily with other branches of the union, all levels of the AFL-CIO, and with members of Local 527 including officers Charlie Moss, B.L. Watkins, and Ralph Meers. The minutes include those of the International Printing Pressmen and Assistants' Union of North America (1962-1967), the Southern Conference of Speciality Unions (1964-1965), the Southeastern Printing Specialties and Paper Products District Council 5-7 (1966-1967) and the Local 527 (1954-1968).
