The collection consists of records relating to intra-office communications between Senator Richard B. Russell and his staff from 1943-1971. Records include memoranda, day sheets (listing of visitors and telephone calls) of both the Washington and Winder offices, daily pages from the desk calendar, and schedule cards. Also includes appointment books, office guest registers, and mail desk diaries. Of particular significance are handwritten notes made by Senator Russell regarding the content of telephone calls and meetings.
