The collection consists of papers of Lucius J. Gartrell from 1848-1866. Includes his license to practice law (1848), commission to the U.S. House of Representatives (1859), letters regarding Gartrell's arrest signed by members of the 7th Georgia Infantry Regiment who support his reinstatement, a letter from W.L. Hubbard regarding the election of officers in the 7th Regiment, and a letter from G.W. Custis Lee accepting Gartrell's resignation.
