Trilateral Commission files, 1972-1981.

The collection consists of the records of Zbigniew Brezinski relating to his work on the Trilateral Commission from 1972-1981. The collection documents the Commission's effort to address such issues as energy, trade, monetary reform, and political relations. The correspondence (1973) consists of letters between Brzezinski, Gerard Smith, David Rockefeller, and other members of the Trilateral Commission; the Gerard Smith file (1972-1977) relates to the activities of the first chairman of the North American Commission and the commission's work. The Brzezinski chronological file (1972-1976) documents his role in setting up the Trilateral Commission, his various activities as Chairman, and contains correspondence from Deputy Director Christopher J. Marins to Brzezinski. The Brzezinski correspondence file (1972-1981) includes correspondence between Brzezinski, members of the Commission, and outside groups and individuals. Contained in this correspondence are progress reports from the three regional chairmen and minutes of chairmen and Executive Committee meetings.
